Peacock Gypsy lamps by artist Linda Kenmore are unique one of a kind works of art to be cherished for a lifetime. One lamp can transform a room and add a mythical quality.
In love with the arts, antique textiles and vintage clothing from an early age, Linda’s first designs were ombre dyed t-shirts with old crochet flower trims for women and girls.
Linda’s early work began in small theater costume design and appropriation. She then moved on to legitimate theater as an on-set costumer. She continued in the field as a costumer in television and also wardrobe supervisor in TV and film.
With a huge passion for seeing the world, Linda is well traveled and has lived in Europe buying and selling antique textiles, France being a favorite stop. All of her experiences of color, texture and soul are incorporated into her art lamps containing unusual jewelry findings, quality antique fabrics, and unique designs. Obsessive to detail, designs in applique or embroidery are elaborated on with hand beading or vintage jewels, and these designs or shapes are often mirrored in the designs of the lamp bases. Linda has been making one-of-a-kind Victorian style lampshades from antique materials for 18 years.
